My long lost other half - my new tripod

I've been wanting a tripod ever since I got my new camera last month, but just never got around to getting one. I didn't think it was that important and I didn't think I'd love it as much as I do. I LOVE IT! I can't imagine not having one now! Even though I'm such a fan of shots that are a little off center, almost crooked, I'm REALLY loving having a tripod. It means that I actually get to be in the picture! :) My family and I went and drove around yesterday evening in search of the perfect place for fall family pictures. I think we found the perfect places and I think they turned out pretty good. :) I'm very happy with them, thanks to my new tripod! :)

Unexpected opportunities.

I absolutely love the unexpected opportunities to take photos. I usually always carry my camera with me wherever I go, even if I just leave it in the car - I almost always have it.

Tonight, driving home from town, we had such a pretty sunset. These pictures aren't amazing, but I love being able to capture this moment in the day. Especially when the air is a little crisp (even when it's warm out, there's just a "bite" in the air, you know fall is right around the corner with one foot in the door) and there are a few clouds in the sky. The colors are beautiful.



This picture I adore. I don't even really know why. Miah was driving and I had my window all the way down shooting pictures (one of my very favorite things to do!). I think I just love all the contrast of this picture. From the sky, to the blurry field, and the empty field with the tree, I just love all the contrast. I love this picture.



Some may find this weird, but I love watering pipe wheels. Is that what they're called? lol Anyway, I love them. I have several (and I mean SEVERAL) pictures of them from various locations. I just think they're cool. :) And I love the lighting in this one, another reason why I love sunset time. All the soft yet super bright light it casts is just amazing.

Photographs

I just wanted to put the word out there, in case there are people who want pictures on a budget, seniors who can't afford what large professional places charge, or anyone who just wants pictures done by me, that I'm now officially doing sessions! :) I've wanted to do this for the better part of 15 years!!! I'm so excited that it may all be working out now!! :D

As of now, I'm completely up for options as far as locations, poses, any info you may have or want for your pictures and I'm completely reasonable in prices ($55.00 flat rate, no matter how many pictures or people) because I'm just starting out. This may or may not change in the future. I don't have any specifics on time or number of pictures as of yet, but I may as time goes on, if I get busy, stuff like that. I'll give you a cd of all the pictures that I take (except for ones that have flaws in them, for example, ones that are blurry or if I've completely missed the mark, haha) and I'll even edit them for you if you'd like. With the cd, you can print as many as you'd like, how big you'd like, they're all your pictures. So right now, it's pretty open ended as far as what you'd like done.

Photo shoot with some of the cutest girls ever!

I'm starting to think about taking this photography thing seriously.
Who am I kidding?! I've been thinking about it since I was in the 6th or 7th grade! :)
I've always loved photography. Always. I'm hoping to get good enough to maybe even start making a little money with it. But I definitely need practice, so today I asked my great friend Heather, if I could do a little photo shoot with her and her beautiful little girls. She has THREE of them! :) Bailey, Carly and little Annabelle. They are SO cute and capturing their personalities was so easy. They were a joy to take pictures of!
We went to the duck pond (Alton Baker Park in Eugene) and of course, I had to get a picture of the bossy/rude goose. I don't know what it is about the ones with the orange beaks, but they're SO mean! LOL!

Impromptu photo session

The kids were pretty restless today.
They didn't want to play outside really, they said there was "nothing to do", which I highly doubt, but at any rate, they weren't happy and were taking it out on each other. So instead of listening to them fight in the house or let them play video games (which I am not really a fan of anyway), I decided to go for a drive and try to find some good pictures spots.
And we did!
We found this old train, it looks like it had been abandon and the tracks obviously weren't running anymore and I thought this was a perfect picture spot. Then we found an old fire truck and snapped some photos with that. In my head, the photo's seemed like they'd be really great with the firetruck, but eh, they weren't as good as I hoped they'd be. But I still think they came out ok. :)
